I use CompuTrainer because my motto in
life is: "Win by choice, not by chance". So I chose the best equipment and
training tools to enable me to win.

CompuTrainer is one of my favorite -
and most effective - training tools. Not only do I get to do specific
workouts in a monitored environment , but the Real Course Videos have become
an integral part of both my training and pre-race reconnaissance. I highly
recommend CompuTrainer so you can get the best out of your season.
Kate Bevilaqua - May 19, 2011
Can't live without it!! I am on it
minimum 3-4 times a week! Intervals, Big Gear work, TT's, ride the course of
an up coming race and not have to deal with any traffic at all! There is no
hiding on a CompuTrainer, just the way I like it!!
Catriona Morrison - May 19, 2011
Computrainer is an integral part of my
training. From indoor training in the harsh European winter months to fine
tuning my bike legs in the summer, Computrainer allows me to be smart in my
training all year round.

Computrainer is a great way to prepare
for any of the Ironman races in North America as it allows you to ride the
bike course without leaving your living room. Regardless of the weather,
Computrainer is always there to let me have the perfect training ride.

Thanks for support with the
CompuTrainer. I do my hard training on it, what helps a lot to hold the
power:))
Kate Major - May 18, 2011
Computrainer is the best stationary
training system on the market. You can ride less but increase your power
output and decrease your race times whilst having the choice of which course
you want to ride. It also has programs to teach you to spin effectively and
gives you immediate feedback on your riding statistics. You can save your
files to view later or use to race yourself again in the future. CT is an
important part of my training!

I am more than happy to
advocate the advantages of CompuTrainer having used the trainer in a number
of races and as a major tool in 2003 during my build up to Kona. What amazed
me was the resemblance of my training prep to my race split being within a
minute of the CompuTrainer time in Kona and again in Ironman OZ 2004 During
my prep for Ironman Australia in 2005 , my last race before our twin
children were born, I again used the CompuTrainer in my preparation and once
again I was surprised by the accuracy of the simulated training (i.e.
in training I rode 5:01 on the compy and on race day I rode 4:59 very
comfortably.)

Powerman
Hi Chuck
I must say that you were
right when you told me that the normal case when using the CompuTrainer is
to go out and win a big race :)! Last Sunday was the European champs,
Powerman, in Holland and as normally there was a strong field. This winter
in Sweden has been very cold so I have done all my training indoors on the
CompuTrainer - good for me it seems because when I went to Mallorca just 4
weeks before the race I felt stronger than ever before. And on race
day I had the best splits on every discipline including the bike (3-4 min
faster over 60 this year) and won the race with almost 5min. What a start
of the season.

The Fitness Pursuit
I have been training and
coaching on a CT all winter and have seen huge improvements in myself and my
athletes. I do have a question. When we calibrate I try and have the ladies at
about 250 watts and the guys at 350. Now if the bike is not warmed up and the
calibration actually decreases (we have been checking post ride) How much does
that effect the watts in a wattage ride for example does it get easier and if so
by how much. Lets say pre ride cal was 278W and post was 248W how does that
effect the wattage ride that is set at 200. How much is it really going at.

"2009 was a season of
amazing races for me. I won three championships- the PC National Championship,
the ITU World Championship and the 70.3 World Championship. My times in the
water, on the bike and on the run were all improvements from years past and I
can promise that because of my work and training on the CompuTrainer, no course
was unfamiliar or too difficult for me. I was able to train independently
without waiting for a guide to tell me they had some time to ride. And with the
2010 season just moments away, I know that my power and speed on the bike will
be second to none - watch out world ... Here comes Scheidies!"

Again, I’m a HUGE
fan:
“I like to think
of my time spent on the Computrainer as the Pain Cave as it is
easily the best use for an hour of time one can spend training
on their bike. There is no coasting and only high intensity and
quality pedaling. My bike training on my home Computrainer in
Colorado allowed me to prepare for Ironman Cozumel this past
November and allowed me to exit the 112-mile bike portion as the
3rd place professional. I recently moved to San Diego
but I plan on training on my Computrainer for my high quality
sessions at least three times each week.”

Finally, I'd like to
offer some feedback on the Computrainer:
It's exactly as
advertised! I researched various trainers for the better part of 3
months, and finally took the plunge with a Computrainer. I rode up
Mt Evans on the pre-loaded course, and it felt remarkably similar to
when I did the actually ride last summer.
Phenomenal product, and
will definitely get me through the winter.
Thank you!

to tell you of a venture we’ve started which heavily relies on the

congestion, smog, etc. Not to mention that our winters are
rather nasty and lengthy, too.

"When
I started cycling in the middle of 1996, I read every article and
book I could find on the sport. I remember coming across an article
about CompuTrainer and how someone was using it to train for the
Race Across America (RAAM). Growing up in Utah with bad winter
weather and school obligations that made it hard to train, I was
very excited and fascinated by the idea of an indoor training
simulation device that could be used to train anytime. Now that I've
been regularly using the CompuTrainer, I see that its convenience is
just a small part of what makes it such a valuable trainer and I'm
very angry at myself for not making the necessary sacrifices in my
youth to buy one. Even when the weather is beautiful I'll often opt
to ride the CompuTrainer because it simulates outside training
without all the interruptions of cars and stoplights and simplifies
training because you do not have to search out specific roads for
specific work.

"The CompuTrainer
is not too good for my tan – I hardly ride outside anymore!! No
seriously – I love the fact that I can objectively measure how I am
doing. I used it to prepare for Florida 70.3 and for Worlds
Triathlon Champs last week in Vancouver. I did both in almost
exactly the same times as I did during my training sessions on the
CompuTrainer. In fact I found the CompuTrainer harder than the
actual courses in both cases. I ended up winning the Masters
category at Worlds – so there you go – another satisfied
CompuTrainer guy that is a world champ. I am really anxious to try
out the dvd courses that you guys are putting together.
Thanks a ton Chuck and thanks for your contribution to the
sport!! I wish I had taken the plunge and got CompuTrainer
years ago – damn damn.
All the best

"Cycling
has always been my weakest discipline but since using the
CompuTrainer through the off season last year I’ve been able to come
off the bike in the top 2 in my AG at all this years races.
The CompuTrainer & SpinScan has helped me develop a more constant
and balanced power output and I’m hoping I can use this knowledge to
curb my ‘enthusiasm’ during the early stages of the Kona bike
course!

Having raced in many Olympic Triathlons now for the last 4 years, I
made a decision to purchase my CompuTrainer unit from Simon at the
beginning of 2008. Up until this time I can now say I had been
cycling and so racing at pretty much
one
speed and not making any real progress. I say to people now that I
was probably ‘dabbling’ in the sport rather than training for
serious racing. My bike splits were always fairly good and would
position me in the top 10% of the field in most national ranking
triathlons. I wanted to develop my cycling further as I felt I had
more potential to fulfil and the proposition from RacerMate of
improvement by 20% sounded too good to be simply ignored. At the
beginning of 2008 I set myself the goal of qualification and top
good performance at the ETU Triathlon Championships in Lisbon in May
2008 with a second aim of improving my time-trialling as the year
went on.

a couple years back and since then use the CompuTrainer for
85-90% of of my bike work. Needless to say my speed and power
has GREATLY improved. No more stopping at lights and no more
dangerous road rides. Being a triathlete I find myself getting
little to no pleasure out of long rides outside that take
forever. The CompuTrainer allows me to have virtually no set up
or take down time and I have all but eliminated driving time to
start my ride. I, my business partner Ben, and some of our
clients, absolutely love your product and use it religiously and
wanted you guys to know that.
Thanks so much,

Me & my CompuTrainer
Anyone who lives where the weather is often inclement and cold will
know how hard it can be to build, or maintain a certain level of
bike fitness. With the short days and long nights during the
winter months this is especially so. Many cyclists and
triathletes use indoor turbo trainers during these winter months,
but often struggle to get the work they need to done.
For the past 5 years now I have been fortunate enough to have access
to a Computrainer. I have used it religiously during those
winter months, and this year I was so convinced by its benefits that
I have continued to use it throughout the year. Combining
regular Computrainer sessions, alongside my outdoor sessions has
really pushed my cycling on to another level.....

"Hi Chuck:
Thanks so much for your time on the phone. And of course many
thanks for your CompuTrainer.....it is the single biggest reason why
my cycling has gone from my relative weakness to my relative
strength in the past 12 years.
Simply put, I am a happy 'slave' to that wattage display.
Every single bike workout I do is built around target wattages.
And every year, I work extremely hard to nudge those wattage numbers
upward. When John Howard introduced me to a CompuTrainer in
April of 1996, I could only do long rides at a wattage of 200, tempo
rides at a wattage of 280, and a set of 3 minute long intervals at a
wattage of 330. But I was (and am) so motivated to 'grow'
those numbers, that I trained more and more intensely as the months
and years went by. And I think as my body adapted to the
increased intensity, that this then allowed me to be able to train a
little bit harder and more intensely still in the years that would
follow."
