There is now a tire designed specially for the indoor trainer.  The Continental™ Home Trainer Tire is the best tire RacerMate has ever seen to help with the age-old problems of tire slip and sidewall/tread delamination.  The benefits of this tire were evident from the moment we installed one on a bike.  So quickly were we convinced of its benefits, we installed them on every dyno used to calibrate CompuTrainer.  In use on our dyno's since October 2005, these tires last an extremely long time -- almost 10 times as long (and counting)!

Please note:  This is a indoor trainer tire and is not designed for use on the road.  It is advised to build a special "training rim" with this tire installed.  This will also help maintain a true wheel for indoor trainer use, which is also crucial.

Benefits

• Almost zero slip.  Tests on the dyno found much lower Press-On Force (tire to roller pressure) was needed to keep tires from slipping at high wattages.
• Long lasting.  May last up to 10 times longer, or more, than conventional tires on an indoor trainer.
• Hold Tire Pressure.  Typically, we've found these tires hold tire pressure more constant, for longer time periods.  Conventional tires seem to loose almost 5 psi a day.  Not so with this tire!
