CompuTrainer CS (Coaching Software) This is version 1.6 build 432 of CompuTrainer CS version 1.6. For details on operation please see the Coaching Software (CS) 1.5 operators manual. ****Registration**** Coaching software no longer requires a registration code for full functionality. ****Update to Build 1.6.432**** This is the official release version. All the updates to this version are noted below. ****Update to Build 1.6.425**** Now version 1.6 up from 1.5 Added save routines to automatically save performance files when you press the Save requester. These files are saved in a Perfs folder in CompCS with a Name/Date/Time stamp. In addition you have the option to save a Performance Report by the same name, but with an HTML file extension. Added Drag Factor functions. Drag Factor can be adjusted ONLY prior to starting the timer, at which time it becomes fixed. Information on drag factor adjustments will be found soon at www.computrainer.com/html/dragfactor.htm to help you determine how to determine your drag factor. Added a User Report at the end of a race. Basic race stats are saved in an HTML file in the Reports sub-folder. Images can be edited by the user or coach to tailor the report to suit the need. You can use the new Option menu for Reports to set the path for these image files. Added new Option menus. One enables the Drag Factor function as mentioned above. Another allows easier modification of the scaling window for each Chart Screen channel. The third addition is for setting up the reports as mentioned above. Changed the global metric flag. Now, if metric is selected all functions from real-time to file-mode as well as export and reports will convert to metric. Added a File menu option to Open Reports. This will remember the path to the Reports sub-folder to allow you to view saved report files. Combined all performance file extension type and course and erg file types under one file of type for each option. So, in other words, when you used to have to go to a file of type drop-down menu to select 3D Courses or ERGO Courses -- it just says "Courses" now. Or if you used to select files of type 3D or CDF, or SS files before for performances -- it just says "Data Files" now and knows what what all the various file type are it can view. ****Update to Build 1.5.326**** Fixed the MultiRider MDF File Export function. ****Update to Build 1.5.308**** First version no longer requiring registration. CS is now integral to CompuTrainer. Improved ability to read CompuTrainer 3D performance files; especially those with multiple laps. Added MultiRider MDF reading capabilities. Added a Perfs subfolder as default save-to folder. Added AutoExport function to automatically export your performance file at the same time you save the performance file. This will save a *.txt file in the Perfs folder. To enable, edit charts.ini Autoexport=true Added remote high/low HR alarm for PC speakers. To enable, edit charts.ini heartrate beep=true Added Torque x/y scaling to SpinScan screens. ****Update to Build 1.5.288**** Fixed a Pause Resume bug, which caused the Miles and Calories to change exponentially. ****Update to Build 1.5.287**** Fixed an export bug caused by 1.5.276 Investigated export issues with toss set to 0, 1, or 2. Was not able to duplicate error, so if you see it -- let us know. Added up to Com 20 test and set. Fixed zoom and scrolling errors. Fixed PC1 file read errors. ****Update to Build 1.5.276**** Added compatibility for new MultiRider Coach software files. ****Updates to Build 1.5.275**** Added a new "Floating RPM Pointer" option to preset this before starting timer. USed to set at what RPM was seen when the timer started, now is set in the Options menu. Fixed the toss issue. Eliminated saving any temp files after a session. Added User data reading of 3D Performance files in File Mode and Export. ****Updates to Build 1.5.245**** Fixed a problem that caused the program to crash when you minimize it and then maximize it. Grades in the SpinScan screen were broken. Fixed now. Fixed a registration issue. Added code to eliminate a zero HR signal from affecting average HR. Fixed a Performance File corruption issue that occured if you reset the timer and then ran another test. PLEASE NOTE: Previous saved performance files (*.cdf) from the original beta file 1.5.226 will not run on this version. Retian a copy of 1.5.226 if you need to analyze those files. Changed the Timer to solve some time/distance inconsistencies. Metric Mode used MPH information for Peak/Average. Fixed now. Rider weight issue is now fixed. Known Issues: Export ERG file showed ;Leg Miles Wind in the Course Header. This was removed, but still need to add Time Watts to the header. If you export an ERG file, you can add these if they are needed by copying the Course Header from the original ERG file and paste it into the Export Text. Some older Laptops have been running into troubles with CS 1.5 and we can't duplicate the problem in-house. If you are having a problem on an older laptop, let us know. We will try and track it down further. The old Coaching Software disabled the File Save routine when it was unregistered. This version will let you save performnace files in an unregistered version. We still have the Source/Saved File disabled and EXport, but we will maintain the saving function on unregistered versions. ****New Features**** This version of CS is similar to the older version, but with some enhancements. These are: -New screen design makes for easier viewing of data. Color of the backgrounds have been optimized to allow easier channel views of data by having added the channel selection buttons to the main screen. -An RPM indicator was added to allow the cyclist to help zone in on a particular RPM. It uses the RPM first seen by the cyclist, so when the timer begins, the cyclist should be at the RPM they plan to maintain. This is useful on ergometer tests where maintaining a fixed RPM is needed to minimize target watt search by the software. Target watt search is where the software must compensate for changes by increasing and decreasing the current to the Load Generator in the attempt to keep watts constant. -Added Manual Ergometer Mode. Similar to Ergometer mode as found in the CompuTrainer Stand-Alone functions, this will allow you to run Time/Watt tests on the fly. Data will be recorded for further analysis. You can predetermine the starting wattage and the watt steps prior to beginning by entering these values in the Options/Manual Ergo Options menu. -Added Full Screen SpinScan function. This, like the full screen SpinScan as found in PC1 has been improved to allow easier veiwing and saving of performance data and better display of other performance data. Added also is Average SpinScan, a feature that has been requested. -A Screen Capture utility to allow you to capture standard Bitmap images to the Bitmap folder. In the Options menu you will find a Capture menu. This dialog will allow you to preset a prefix that will become part of the file name. Before running a test on a subject in Real-Time or File-Mode, set this to display perhaps the name and date of the rider and capture images for later use however they come in handy. -A utility file (charts.ini) contains the parameters of each channel view. This will allow you to adjust the y-axis scaling of any channel data. If you find channel data is running over the top of other data, edit these parameters to reposition any channel to a less populated portion of the screen. ****DirectX 7.0***** DirectX 7.0 or higher Required! If you do not know what version of DirectX you have on your PC you can type DXDIAG from the Run command in your Start Menu. This will run DirectX Diagnostics and will tell you what version you do have. If this program fails to run, or you have a version earlier than DirectX 7.0, then install the DirectX program supplied on your CompuTrainer CD-ROM before running this software, or you can download the latest version at: www.microsoft.com/directx/ ****Log Files**** Currently the log level has been set to zero to maximize data collection for troubleshooting purposes. If the software runs without problems, you can edit the chart.ini and change the line which states loglevel=0 to loglevel=8 to decrease the file size and conserve hard drive space. If you do experience problems Tech support may ask you to email us log file to help diagnose the problem. ****Bug Reports**** Users of this software please notify RacerMate ASAP in regards to any bugs or function errors you may encounter. Fixes will be placed on our web site at www.computrainer.com ***************************************** Known issues and fixes: 1.5.226 - First official version of CS 1.5. No known bugs or issues. This version was released as BETA. 1.5.0 - First new version of CS 1.5 which only allows export fuctions at this time. END OF README
