Optional things to consider:

Connection to a big-screen TV
is a function of the video card. If this is your plan, get a video
card that has an s-video output or a TV that has a VGA-input.

Internet Connection, though not
required to run the applications listed above, comes in handy for downloading software updates, more courses,
ranking etc. Interactive Real Course Videos require an Internet
connection to register, but this can be done on a computer not running the
video as noted in the Interactive Real Course
Video instruction manual.
