Information on Obsolete 3Dfx Voodoo Cards

Please Note:  If you are still trying to run CompuTrainer 3D version 1 build 105b and earlier and are running without a 3Dfx Voodoo video card, you will receive a message saying it can't find Glide2X.DLL when you launch the program.  "Glide" is a program we used at that time that requires a 3Dfx video chipset. Simply put... If you do not have a 3DFX video card - you will not have Glide drivers. This problem was eliminated with the release of CompuTrainer 3D version 2 build 116 update and with our new CompuTrainer 3D version 3.0.  Please see our current minimum system requirements before upgrading to either of these newer versions.

Voodoo3 2/3000 Driver - v1.07.00 Win9x/ME

Display driver v4.12.1.666 is the only Voodoo 3Dfx driver we've found so far that seems to run CompuTrainer 3D v3 somewhat correctly.  For your convenience we've listed the Win9x/Me version here.  If you need a Win2K or XP compatible version you may be able to find one at http://www.voodoofiles.com/category.asp?x=13

Canopus Pure 3D Win9x Video Driver Update.

Please Note:  RacerMate originally offered the "Canopus Pure 3D video accelerator card with TV out" as an optional accessory along with CompuTrainer 3D systems sold between 1997-1999.  This video card will still run CompuTrainer 3D v116 software and earlier, but no longer meets system requirements for the new CompuTrainer 3D Version 3.0 Software.

Non-Voodoo versions of 3D

*Known Issues for CompuTrainer 3DDX (v113-116)

  • The Rage Mobility video chip-sets which come in some laptop computers can cause a "fogging" appearance with this version CompuTrainer 3D Software.
  • Some older PCI  nVidea TNT cards may produce multiple rider images with CompuTrainer.
  • Some 3Dfx Voodoo cards have caused the data bar section of CompuTrainer 3D software v113-v116 to over-scan the viewable area.  Click here to common Voodoo video driver updates or visit: www.voodofiles.com for a more comprehensive list.
